Ms. Ziehl's Fitness Workouts ~
Mrs. Ziehl's classes are completing TOTAL BODY workouts. 6th graders will complete body weight workouts in order to enhance muscular endurance. Students will have an assessment based upon the 3 parts of a workout, health related fitness component identification (cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, muscular endurance, strength), and muscle identification: abs, glutes, biceps, triceps, hamstrings, quads, pectorals, calves, deltoids. Students will also need to know which activities use which muscles.
*The week before Break ~ Students will complete a short DANCE unit.

7th & 8th grade will complete TOTAL BODY workouts for strength by using light hand weights. 7th & 8th grade will use the format established in class in order to create a personal workout with a partner. The students will design their workouts utilizing fitness posters, magazines, and the web. Students will then perform their workouts for 4-5 classes. This assignment is the Quarter Written Assessment (25% of the quarter grade.) Students will need to identify the following muscles: (abs, glutes, biceps, triceps, hamstrings, quads, pectorals, calves, deltoids, latissimus dorsi (lats) and trapezius (traps).
